Artist’s note

I kept returning to blue for this one — the color of something that doesn't ask to be noticed, only trusted. While I painted the rose, I kept thinking about the difference between loving someone and choosing them again, deliberately, after everything. This piece is my answer to that. It isn't about the crown or the kingdom. It's about the choosing.
